A really proper cup of tea. No plastic, no nonsense.

Whole-leaf black tea sourced straight from Kerala, India.

Let's be completely honest: most tea brands spend way more time talking about "vibes" than what's actually hiding inside your mug. We wanted to build something different. Monsoon & Leaf is just premium, full-bodied black tea that tastes incredible, packed into a bag that won't leach synthetic polymers into your morning brew.

Instead of using mass-blended "tea dust" (the left-over sweepings from industrial warehouses), we source our whole-leaf black tea from independent estates in southern India. Because it's a high-grade leaf, it is naturally smooth enough to drink entirely black without any bitter aftertaste. But if you are someone who loves a classic, comforting mug with a splash of milk or a bit of sugar, go right ahead—the robust character of this leaf holds up perfectly, making your usual brew taste miles better.

And here is the big thing: standard tea bags use a heat-seal method. To do that, companies use a micro-thin layer of synthetic plastic or bioplastic glue to literally melt the edges of the paper shut. We don't do that. Our bags are physically folded and secured with a traditional mechanical knot of raw cotton thread. No glue, no plastic, no compromise.

Hop on the Batch 01 Waitlist Back Us on Kickstarter ↗ The reality check: Doing things completely differently means it costs us more than usual to make a product this good. Because of that, a pack will retail for £12.99 when we launch in about 3 to 4 months. If you're on board with that, drop us a line at or watch us build this on Instagram at .

The honest truth about your kitchen cupboard.

The Standard Box

Mass-produced to keep retail grocery prices dirt cheap.

  • Warehouse Tea Dust: Chopped up, anonymous tea particles blended together to taste uniform, stripping away the actual rich flavor profiles.
  • Forced to Mask: High-speed machine harvesting grabs everything—including older leaves and bitter wood stems. It almost forces you to use milk or sugar just to hide the harsh bitterness.
  • The Plastic Seal: Uses polypropylene or cornstarch-based PLA bioplastics to glue the bag edges shut with heat.

The Monsoon & Leaf Way

Built entirely for pure taste and zero hidden ingredients.

  • Single-Estate Whole Leaf: Pristine, large-grade black tea leaves from Kerala that hold onto their natural essential oils for a rounded, smooth brew.
  • Brilliant However You Drink It: A deep, full-bodied base that tastes completely clean on its own, but pairs beautifully with milk and sugar if that's how you love your tea.
  • Mechanically Knotted: Structured entirely through folding and tied securely with a physical knot of organic cotton thread. Absolutely zero glues.
No Secrets. Ever.

We'd rather show you the lab paperwork.

We think marketing slogans are cheap. Instead of asking you to just take our word for it, we are publishing the actual independent laboratory data for our tea bags right here the second they roll off the line.

A quick note from us: We don't want you to rely on blind trust. We explicitly tell third-party labs like SGS and Intertek to brew our finished bags in rolling, boiling water—just like you would at home. Then they use high-powered microscopy to verify that absolutely zero synthetic particles or glues are leaching out. The unedited test results will always live right here for anyone to look at.
